1. Sphere
of application
The
present technical specifications apply to the chloride lime which is a
mixture of calcium hypochlorite bibasic salt, calcium oxychloride and
calcium hydroxide and it is intended for the use as a means of gas
preservation and bleach.

The
present specifications include the normative documents, the list of which
is presented in Appendix A.
3.
Technical characteristics
3.1
Descriptions
3.1.1 The
chloride lime shall be in conformity with the requirements of the present
technical specifications and shall be prepared according to the specified
order of approved technological regulations.
3.1.2 The
chloride lime is manufactured by chloride lime powder in Bakman equipments
of model B.
3.1.3
According to physicochemical indices, the chloride lime shall be in
conformity with the requirements as presented in the table below.

Note:
The decrease in the massive part of active chlorine by 4 percent within
one years time is permitted.
3.2 Packing
3.2.1
Chloride lime, the net weight of which is 20 kg, is packed in polyethylene
bags according to GOST 17811 or in polyethylene coated paper bags
according to GOST 2228.
3.2.2 For
the retail trade the chloride, the net weight of which is 0.5-2.0 are
converted according to GOST 10354 in polyethylene coated bags. The
permissible deviation of nominal massive in the package shall not exceed +
(-) 5 percent.
3.2.3 For
the retail trade the packages with chloride lime are placed in
polyethylene bags (GOST 17811), or in folded tissue-paper boxes according
to GOST 13841, or in wooden boxes according to GOST 18573. It is
permissible to state the type of shipment packages in the delivery
contract.
3.2.4 The
gross weight of one box shall not exceed 30 kg.
3.2.5 The
temperature of the chloride lime in the package shall not exceed 40 degree
Celsius.
3.2.6 The
polyethylene bags and the packages shall be welded or tied by an iron
ring.
3.3 Labeling
and marking
3.3.1 For
the retail trade each package of chloride lime shall carry a label
stating:

The marking
can be on the consumer package or on the label attached to the package.
The marking
information shall be in the Armenian language or in any other language as
stated in the delivery contract.
3.3.2
Shipping data shall carry the following information according to GOST

4.
Safety requirements
4.1 The
chloride lime according to the level of effect on a human being belongs to
the 2nd class of hazardous substances according to GOST
12.1.007.
4.2 The
chloride lime powder and the separate chlorine produces a stimulating and
irritating effect on the respiratory tracks, the mucous membrane of eyes
and the skin.
4.3 The
permissible limit of chlorine concentration in the working zone air
according to GOST 12.1.005 shall not exceed 1 mg/m3.In the
production areas it is required to use immovable automatic or movable gas
analyzers for the determination and registration of content of chlorine.
4.4 Chlorine
lime is a noncombustible substance, but when mixed with heavy oxidation,
organic substances it can cause them to burn.
4.5 The
production areas shall be equipped with air cleaning conditioners which
shall secure the content of chlorine within the limits of permissible
concentration.
4.6. The
staff employed shall be provided with a special protected uniform and
individual devices intended to protect respiratory and vision organs.
4.7 The
production areas and the storehouses shall be provided with fire
protection devices, such as water, sand, box and carbonic acid
extinguishers.
4.8 In case
of increase in the temperature of chloride lime as a result of package
solution it is required to undertake rash measures for decentralizing it.
4.9 When
poisoned by the chlorine, it is necessary to take the sufferer away from
the infected place, provide quietness, heat and call a doctor. In case the
mucous membrane of eyes and the skin are infected with chloride lime, it
is necessary to wash them with running water, with the duration of 15 or
20 minutes.
If necessary, the sufferer shall be sent to a relevant medical center for
examination.
4.10 Vacuum
cleaning of the production area is also of vital importance. In case there
is no vacuum system installed, wet cleaning is also permitted.
5.
Procedure of Acceptance
5.1 The
chloride lime is accepted in group quantities. The group quantity is
considered to be not more than 400 kg of quantity of quality coefficient
homogenous chloride lime produced during one work shift. The quality is
stated in one document.
5.2 Each
group quantity shall be provided by a document of quality which shall
state the following:

product name, brand and sort
-
number of group quantity
-
net
weight
-
quantity of packing units in group quantities
-
conclusions of analysis or the ratification of conformity of chloride lime
quality of the requirements of the present technical specification
-
words
on the packages pungent substance and keep in dry place according to
the confirmation of the marking of warning signs of GOST 19433, the
signs of technical specifications.
5.3 For the
testing of the conformity of chloride lime quality of the requirements of
the technical specification, experimental samples shall be taken out of
each group quantity at the rate of one (1) percent of packed unites, but
not less than three (3) bags.
5.4 With the
view to testing the conformity of the provided chloride lime for the
retail trade, two (2) packages out of each bags or boxes are taken from
the experimental samples.
5.5 In the
event that unsatisfactory results occur in respect of at least one
coefficient (index) in the course of the experiment. Repeated experiments
shall be conducted using doubled sample taken from the same group quantity
for the experiment.
The results
of the repeated experiments apply to the entire group quantity.
6.
Testing Methods
6.1 Sample
according to GOST 1692.
6.2 The
outward appearance of the chloride lime is determined intentionally.
6.3 The
massive part of active chlorine is determined according to GOST 1692.
6.4 The
coefficient of heat resistance is determined according to GOST 1692.
7.
Shipment and storage
7.1 The
chloride lime can be shipped in closed transport facilities by all means
of transportation except for air transport persuant to the shipping
procedures of dangerous items existing for the definite type of transport.
7.2 The
chloride lime packed in polyethylene bags shall be stored in the
manufacturers storehouses for 72 hours prior to the delivery.
7.3 The
chloride lime shall be stored in covered, dark, non-heating and
well-ventilated storehouses. The floors of the storehouses shall be made
of asphalt or concrete.
The bags of
chloride lime shall be kept in piles at the height of 2.5 meter and up to
1.2 meter in width.
7.4 It is
strictly forbidden to keep any other explosive substances, dangerous items
and compressed gas-cylinders nearby.
8.
Manufacturers guarantee
8.1 The
manufacturer warrants the conformity of the chloride lime with the
requirements of the present technical specifications, in case of shipment
and observance of storage procedures.
8.2 The
guarantee period of the chloride lime is 6 months from the moment of its
manufacture. |
